FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Are you a PAC? Republican? Democrat?
A: No, we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-partisan educational and charitable organization. We do not endorse political candidates. Poligon is non-partisan because we believe it is important for Muslims to engage with all of their Congressional representatives, regardless of their political affiliation. Democrats, Republicans, and Independent members of Congress all represent Muslim constituents, and it is important for Muslims to advocate for their rights with all of these members of Congress.
Q: Where are you based?
A: We are a national organization based in Washington, D.C.
Q: Where did the name “Poligon” come from?
A: Polygons are shapes defined by any number of straight sides and vertices, symbolizing our work to advance policy, promote progress, and connect people by building coalitions (polygon) through strengthening relationships and developing partnerships (the sides) with communities, advocacy groups, and mission-aligned organizations (the vertices). Furthermore, Poligon aims to shape policy, discourse, and progress for a more inclusive and equitable nation. Our team changed the spelling to “Poligon” as a nod to our focus on policy and politics.
Q: Do you provide scholarships?
A: Unfortunately we don't! We provide educational services through our policy resources and congressional advocacy trainings to Muslim and ally communities. For more information or to request a training in your community, email: info@poligonnational.org.
